Model Ming Xi Recovers like a Pro after falling at the 2017 Victoria Secrets Fashion Show

It is inevitable that at some point in life, we fall. It is very important that we are mindful of our attitude in this fallen/crucial state because sometimes, it is moments like this, when we are closest to the ground, that sometimes define who we are.

How then should we react?

Chinese fashion model Ming Xi took a tumble on the catwalk during the 2017 Victoria’s secret Fashion Show in Shanghai, China. Ming was wearing thigh high stiletto boots which may have got caught in her long flowing cape.

Now, I am not a model, but I do know for certain how embarrassing it can be to fall on your face in public.

I once fell in front of the assembly in Primary school and it is arguably one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. I still haven’t forgotten how mortified I was.

Now imagine how it would have been for the model, with her career on the line, and at least two hundred people watching.

The 28-year old model however, model handled the whole situation like a pro. Even if the fall was an embarrassing moment for Xi, she didn’t let any humiliation show on her face. She maintained a smile throughout the experience and wasn’t afraid to laugh at herself.

After adjusting her hair and wings, she got up and proceeded to walk. She even received applause from the audience and her fellow models.

Even though the situation may have been more difficult for Xi than she let on, Ladies and gentlemen,  this is the right way to deal with a fall. Whether literally or figuratively.

It never profited anyone to maintain their supine position and weep.

The important thing is to get up afterwards, dust yourself, put on the bravest smile and move on. And I can promise you that you will be moving on with the sounds of cheers and applause.
