Maryland High School Shooter Identified

The identity of the shooter who opened fire at Great Mills high school, Maryland on Tuesday morning has been revealed as 17-year-old student of the school named Austin Wyatt Rollins.

Austin opened fire at about 7:45am in the hallway at the start of school day, before class started for the day. He wounded a female and male student in the shooting.

The school resource officer fired a round at the shooter, injuring him. He died at about 10:41 a.m. at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, authorities said.

The female victim is a 16-year-old. She was taken to Prince George’s County Shock Trauma with life-threatening injuries, authorities said. She is listed in critical condition. The 14-year-old male victim is in much better shape. He was shot in the leg and was taken to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Sheriff says the shooting may have been domestic related. Detectives determined there was a prior relationship between Rollins and the female victim, but a motive remains under investigation.
