Manchester City beat Chelsea 2-0 to win the 2018 Community Shield courtesy of two goals from Sergio Aguero.

The match started on a cagey note as both sides tried to size up each other.

Chelsea started the match without their talisman, Eden Hazard and Ngolo Kante, Willian started from the bench.

Sergio Aguero gave City the lead against the run of play after Chelsea midfielders fail to recover on time after losing the ball, Aguero was given too much space and time to beat Caballero with a low drive.

Chelsea struggled to create any meaningful chance as Manchester City dominated possession.

Odoi was superb but the other Chelsea players failed to live up to expectations in the first half as City finished the half with a 1-0 lead.

Chelsea started brightly in the second half but still they couldn’t create a serious opening to threaten Bravo.

Aguero added his second of the match after Chelsea defenders were caught napping, he unleased a low drive to beat Caballero at the near post.

Chelsea toiled and gave everything but the gulf in class between both teams was evident for all to see as City won the first Silverware of the season.
