Kidnapper Shot Dead During A Gun Battle With The Police In Ogun

Luck ran against a member of kidnap syndicate terrorizing Ilaro and its environs when he was shot dead by men of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad led by Dsp Uba Adam.

The gang members had earlier kidnapped one Sanni Dan Nasarawa, took him to a thick forest where they tied him down for seven days waiting for his people to pay the ransom.

 

Luck, however, smiled on him when the rope they used to tie him got loose, while his abductors were fast asleep. He subsequently escaped and ran to FSARS office in Abeokuta where he lodged a complaint.

Upon receiving his report, FSARS operatives quickly mobilized his men and followed the victim to the forest. The team combed the forest from 6 pm of 1st February up till about 4:00 am of 2nd February before they came across the gang who engaged them in serious gun battle which lasted for almost an hour.

At the end of the encounter, one of the suspects was gunned down while others numbering about seven escaped with various degree of gunshot injuries. Recovered from them is one AK47 rifle loaded with 15rounds of ammunition.

Recall that, Security operatives in Rivers state in a gun battle with 3 suspected kidnappers overpowered the suspects.

The incident was said to have occurred in Isiokpo community in Rivers state.

According to a report by Vicky Thompson who shared the photos on social media, the alleged kidnappers were gunned down while trying to abduct a pastor in the area. An alarm was raised and security operatives who happened to be at the area at that moment were alerted and then engaged in a gun battle with the suspects.

 

In another kidnapping case that occurred in Ogbo-Ekere, Luwe -Nneiri in Osuachara ward, Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo state, a lady identified as Chiamaka Ukeji, was attacked by youth in the area for kidnapping and selling a 5 year old child. The youth stormed her home in the area with palm fronds and other dangerous weapons to destroy her properties.

According to a Facebook user, Achiever Darlington Onyelike who wrote:

“Yesterday I got an urgent information that some angry youths gathered with Palm Branches attempting to destroy the house of a lady who kidnapped a little girl of 5 years and sold her to a woman in River State, but was stopped by one Hon. Julius who pleaded that youths should not take laws into their hands.

The incident took place on Monday evening, 22/01/2017 at Of – Ekere, Luwe – Nneiri in Osuachara ward, Isiala Mbano Imo state., an eyewitness told Achievers News that he saw when the little girl entered into the house of one Chiamaka Ukeji to take something and maybe the little was drugged and smuggled away by the lady.

Source said the father of the lady (name withheld) was arrested to produce his daughter who happens to be the prime suspect and the father directed them where to meet the daughter and when she was arrested by the police and tortured, she confessed that she had sold the little 5 years old girl to a woman in Port Harcourt through someone that gave her the contact.

She also confessed to the police according to a source that she has sold more than 4 little children from that Community to people in River State which includes even her own Child that she gave birth to from an unexpected and unwanted pregnancy.

The father of the kidnapped Child by name Mr. Ikechukwu Ebeofor cried and said the little 5 years old girl is his last hope, insisted that Justice must be done. He also prayed to see his daughter alive.
