Working from home is a benefit most employees wish for as no one is looking forward to another day in traffic, weather delays or sitting at your desk all day while trying to finish a task. etc. Many people working from from home, whether they are self-employed, working remotely, or out on leave tend to be distracted but here are 10 tips to help you to be productive at home as you are in the office.

1.     Start Early.

When you work from home, you should wake up early so that you can get started early too, much earlier normal working hours. Have a good breakfast, a bath and get right into work immediately.

2.     Pretend like you are going into the office.

Get fully ready for the day and pretend you are actually going to work otherwise, you might find yourself back in bed.

3.     Structure your day like you would in the office.

Use the same schedule you would use while in the office at home. While you probably will get tasks done faster at home than at work, this structure will help keep you focused and productive.

4.     Choose a dedicated work space.

Have a place you go specifically to work. It could be a certain table, chair, set aside some space that would be consistently your workspace, It helps you get into the right frame of mind. That way, when you enter it, you know consciously what you are there to do.

On the days you are working from home, you should commit on what you would deliver that day. It helps keep you honest, so even if you get the urge to go do something else, you already know you have already committed a certain amount of work to your team.
