He takes great pride in being the first Nigerian comedian to become a Youth Ambassador for Peace. In this interview with Isaac Oladipupo, Seyilaw (real names – Oluwaseyitan Aletile Lawrence), reminisces on his new marital status and more…

 

Why comedy?

I am into comedy because it is what I love doing and I have received so much fulfillment doing it.

If you weren’t a comedian…?

I would have been a medical doctor.

How has marriage been so far?

For me, marriage has been a blessing with so much joy; it’s been very wonderful so far!

What do you love most about being married?

I love the responsibility and respect that comes with it. You now think of two as one, and you also know someone has got your back.

What do you treasure most about your wife?

I treasure and adore her inner beauty. Her body is an embellishment for the good character that is within and radiates outside.

How did you meet her?

I met her on the 30th of September, 2007 after my performance at my church, Global Impact Church. She walked up to me to commend my performance and the rest is history today.

Scared about parenting?

Not at all, I am fully prepared for it.

To you, what’s God’s purpose for sex?

To me, it is for fruitfulness, showing of love and pleasure.

What do you think about sex in marriage?

Sex in marriage is very cool! You can have as much as you want as long as it’s not to the discomfort of your spouse.

What’s your view about styles in marriage?

Variety is the spice of life. You must put each other’s views into consideration.

Who enjoys sex the most, the man or woman?

It is individual opinion as satisfaction differs.

What do you value most in friends?

Truthfulness

Favourite comedian?

I learn from many comedians. I respect Alibaba for his fatherly ability, Basketmouth for Branding, AY for event packaging, I go die for dexteritry, Gandoki for his descriptive power, Gordons for his audibility, Steve Harvey for his excellent mastery of the act and so on.

Favourite hero of fiction?

Superman has always been my favourite

Most treasured possession?

My wife, though she is not a possession, but a divine gift to compliment me.

When & where are you most happiest?

I’m most happy whenever I’m home.

Which talent would you most love to have?

I love to be a good singer because I love music.

Greatest accomplishment?

Being the first Nigerian Comedian to be honoured with the Youth Ambassador for Peace.
