The Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has spoken about the attack on him by security operatives. Fayose wept as he narrated to reporters how the police teargassed him while he was speaking to some PDP supporters in front of the state government house in Ado-Ekiti.

Recall that security operatives had on Wednesday blocked the entrance to the state’s Government House in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

The operatives had shut teargas canisters which allegedly affected Fayose.

The governor’s media aide, Lere Olayinka had disclosed that his principal was rushed to the hospital, following the incident.

But addressing reporters on the incident, Fayose said if anything happens to him, the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris should be held responsible.

According to Fayose, “They are not picking our calls because they have made up their minds to do this evil. I’m in pain. I can’t turn this neck. I can’t take this anymore.

“If anything happens to me, the Inspector General of Police should be held accountable.”
