Former PDP Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff, To Defect To APC Today

When the going gets tough, the tough get to stepping!

With the witch hunt and the release of the looters’ list, must be tough being in the opposition party–especially, for the corrupt once.

Must be why the tough–Former fractional National chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one time governor of Borno state, Ali Modu Sheriff– will today defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The three-term senator, will return along with PDP’s 2015 gubernatorial candidate in Borno State, Alhaji Gambo Lawan.

Confirming the defection to newsmen, a member of the Borno State Executive Council who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Sheriff will be received by the national chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and other senior officials of the ruling party later today, Senator Sheriff was a pioneer chieftain of the APC,  having joined the erstwhile main opposition party as a member of the defunct All Nigerian People’s Party, (ANPP). He defected to the PDP in 2014 in controversial circumstances.
