Former Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes retires and deletes all social media accounts

Ex-Barcelona and Manchester United goalkeeper, Victor Valdes has announced his retirement from football on Monday after failing to find a club.

And true to his words, the first thing he did (after his vote of thanks) was to delete all of his social media accounts. In 2015, perhaps showing some clairvoyance, Valdes revealed he would delete his social media accounts once his playing days came to an end to focus on his family.

That day has finally arrived.

He told RAC1: ‘When the light goes out someday, then it will go out and I’ll be with my children, teaching them about life. But I hope that when the light does go out, it will be hard to find me.’
