Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold has yet again shown why he is the general of Simisola Ogunleye’s army.

That both singers are an item is no longer news, and of late, their endearing public displays of affection have spiked.

On Sunday, Gold and Simi were in the news when the latter’s Lagos concert started behind schedule, due to undisclosed logistics issues.

While the wait lasted, fans at the venue had vented their frustration and also protested on Twitter.

But when Simi got on stage, she issued an apology to the audience and implored them to enjoy the show.

Hours later, boyfriend/collaborator, Gold, posted a message of support for Simi on Instagram.

The Afro-urban singer, who performed with the X3M Music star, said he will fight for her forever.

He wrote: “Know this, we your true fans know you were sorry. And before the clouds of those reviews set in, I would like to cover you in joy and celebration.

“You were beautiful, electrifying and incredible tonight my darling. I am so proud of you. Thank you for letting me share that stage with you. It will always be my honour. Forever in your army fighting for you.”

Gold is billed to perform for three straight nights (December 12-15) at Terra Kulture, Lagos.
