EPL: Carragher Calls On Arsenal Board To Confirm Wenger’s Departure After Man City Defeat

Former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, has called on Arsenal to end the uncertainty surrounding Arsene Wenger’s future, by announcing his departure now.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the Gunners were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City on Thursday, Carragher feels it is the only way Wenger will get the send-off he deserves.

Wenger’s men were booed off by a half-empty Emirates Stadium at half and full time and Carragher feels the club has to take immediate action.

“I think tonight was nothing about what was happening on the pitch.

“I think last season there were scenes at this club and there was anger among supporters. There were marches against Arsene Wenger which I thought were a disgrace. I don’t like that.

“But I think tonight was worse.

“They (the fans) aren’t actually interested. They haven’t turned up. I’m not having a go at them for not coming, because I can understand.

“There were a few boos at the end but it wasn’t like it was last season. That was anger. Now it’s almost resignation. They’re just waiting for the manager to go,” he said.
