Education: Zamfara Partners AL-HANDA Varsity

The Zamfara State government is partnering with AL-HANDA International University Niamey in Niger Republic on education development.

Gov. Abdul’aziz Yari stated this in Gusau on Sunday at the official commissioning of the university’s liaison office in the state.

Yari represented by his deputy, Malam Ibrahim Wakkala described the establishment of the office in the state as a welcome development especially as it would assist the teeming youths from the state who have the interest to further their studies in various fields of knowledge.

According to him, one of the major policies of the present is to partner with the institutions of higher learning within and outside the country to secure admissions for its indigenes.

He said the state has been in partnership with the institution for long, adding we have many academicians, Khadis, Islamic Scholars, Imams, teachers and government officials who studied in the university.

“It is our hope as you open this office in Zamfara, our youths would be given special treatment and consideration while giving admission for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies, ” he said.

He said that the state government would maintain the good relationship with the University in order to achieve the desired objective.

“We will continue to give our support and cooperation for the educational development of our people.

“As we all know education is the bedrock of development in any society, we are therefore ever ready to partner with any academic institution to educate our people”, he added.

Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdul’aziz Abdou-Umar thanked the state government for its support to the institution.

Abdou-Umar said the University is a private institution established to carry out research on various fields of studies.
