We just can’t get over the awesomeness of the Christmas Carol Concert that went down at Daystar Christian Centre on Sunday, 10th of December at the church premises.

While there are several carol services going on in this season, in my opinion, the Daystar Carol service is still the most grand. Yes! you read that right. It was my first time attending the church’s carol service, and trust me, it was beyond my expectations.

The fact that I did not have to deal with ‘African time’ was worthy of note. The reception from the protocol officers was highly remarkable, the rich blend of culture and class was a lovely sight to behold, the energy from everyone that took to the stage was incredible.

It was a refreshing time in God’s presence as we enjoyed some hours of timeless classics from the junior division, the youth and the Healing Streams of God.

With several thousands of viewers online and so many individuals and families physically present at the auditorium, the carol concert was indeed a successful one as everyone truly experienced sweet rejoicing thanks to God.

Just before the event commenced, there was an interview session with Kunle Idowu ‘Frank Donga’ and other comedians who got the audience laughing with their witty comments and hilarious jokes.

Themed ‘ In Dulci Jubilo’, which is translated ‘In Sweet Rejoicing,’ it was a night of glamour and colour, with performances ranging from dance to spoken words to drama to solos and, of course, thanksgiving to God.

The Deputy Senior Pastor and Founder of the Real Woman Foundation, Pastor (Mrs) Nike Adeyemi, who looked very elegant by the way, gave a welcome address as she urged everyone to sit back and enjoy the evening.

Of course I enjoyed the evening; it was a mini reunion for me as I danced my way into many of my friends from way back. Everyone was present!

As the event progressed, the vibrant youth arm of the church, “The Star Hub” indeed blew our minds when they took to the stage to deliver an electrifying performance. The day was not only about looking and listening as we watched a narrative styled drama that involved the whole audience in singing together popular Christmas tunes.

Following this, a very excited choir filed up as they made a grand procession to the stage where they delivered melodious songs. From classical, to contemporary and of course, to indigenous tunes, The Healing Streams of God got the whole congregation grooving.

One could not also miss the energy that came from the choir director. She was simply full of life!

And after a successful event, the Daystar Christian Centre can only look forward to celebrating the very essence of Christmas with persons, home and abroad, in the coming years.

The senior pastor of the renowned church, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, came up in between to share about the essence of the Season. He closed the session by leading people to give their lives to Christ as this is the only sure way to experience eternal life.

See you all next year, you really do not want to miss this again, but in case you did, here are more photos from the Daystar Christmas Carol 2017. Enjoy!
