Bournemouth vs Arsenal: Wenger Explains Why Manchester United Target, Sanchez Was Left Out

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has explained why Alexis Sanchez was left out of the match day squad to face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

Wenger has gone with the front three of Danny Welbeck, Alex Iwobi and Alexandre Lacazette, with Mesut Ozil out with a knee problem.

According to the Frenchman, Sanchez was dropped because “he’s being vague at the moment”.

The Chilean has been linked with a move to Manchester United, with both clubs reportedly close to agreeing a deal.

Wenger told reporters before the match: “He’s being vague at the moment. His situation is not completely decided one way or the other so I left him at home.

When asked if a resolution was imminent, the Gunners boss replied: “Yes, don’t read too much into it because even I don’t know, really, what way it will go.”
