All 12 members of the Thai youth football team and their coach trapped in a flooded cave for 18 days have been rescued.

Thai Navy SEALs said in a Facebook post, adding they were “safe”. “All 12 ‘Wild Boars’ and coach have been extracted from the cave,” the post said, adding “all are safe” and signing off with a simple “Hooyah”

However, the Four divers who stayed with the group were still to emerge, it added.

The boys are weak and ravenously hungry, Thailand’s public health chief Dr Jedsada Chokdamrongsuk revealed, but have been laughing and joking with staff and officials. Among the first things the children told medical staff were “we miss home” and “we’re happy”, he added.
