Alex Iwobi Signs New Four-Year Deal With Arsenal

Super Eagles Star, Alex Iwobi has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal that would keep him at Emirates until 2022.

The Nigerian international who joined the Gunners as a nine-year-old made his first-team debut in 2015 under Arsene Wenger.

Iwobi has impressed since making his debut against Sheffield Wednesday in the league cup, the 22-year-old has grown in leaps and bounds.

Iwobi said after putting pen to paper to commit his long-term future to the North London Club

“It’s always been my childhood dream to represent Arsenal, from young,” Iwobi told Arsenal media.

“To get an extended contract is an amazing feeling and I hope I’m doing the Arsenal family proud as well as my family

Head coach Unai Emery said: “I’m very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us. He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the Academy through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other talented young players in the squad.”

Iwobi has made 65 appearances for Arsenal scoring six goals.
