Why Adesua and Banky Deserve Each Other #BAAD2017

So, yesterday, I watched my crush get traditionally wed to another man. It was heart-wrenching to say the least.

The ceremony was star-studded. In attendance were celebrities including, Ebuka, Bovi, Basket Mouth, Kemi Adetiba, Tunde Demuren, Chigul, Lynxx, Juliet Ibrahim, M.I Abaga,Dotun Kayode, Toolz, among many others. In fact, I think I was the only celebrity that wasn’t there. I didn’t go because I was beefing her…and maybe because I wasn’t invited (but that has never stopped a Nigerian, has it?)

At first I was angry, like why would she break my heart like that?

Is it because the man has a little bit more money and fame than I do? At least I have more hair on my head.

But after eating Sunday Jollof, I was cured of all the resentments and began to think clearly (Side note: It has been scientifically proven that Jollof rice is the best cure for anger).

So, I spent several hours reflecting on why she didn’t marry me, and I came up with one, and only one reason. I wasn’t adding any value to her.

See, Adesua is an asset. She is beautiful, nice girl with a great career- and she can play nurse when boo is in the hospital.

What did I have to offer her?

On the other hand, according to her, Banky W brought a nice pickup line, a heart of gold and proved to her that God exists. He used to pray and fast with her.

Ah! So I will now miss food because of love?

He also wrote a nice song for her.

I can’t even sing to save my life.

Bottom line is, he obviously adds value to her; and she also brings something to the table (cue, Nurse Susu). Which is evident in the way they gush about each other. The two seem perfect for each other and it is difficult not to love them.

And so, I join the rest of Nigeria to celebrate with the couple (while listening to Adele’s someone like you). Do have a happy and fulfilled marriage.

Moral lesson: Don’t be like me. Be a high value partner to attract and keep a high value partner.

Here are some photos from the traditional wedding.
