5 Things to Do on Your Commute to Be Happier

Published

on

When you can get in a better mood on your way into office and on your way home, you are more likely to approach your work with enthusiasm and interest. You can use your time even more effectively, doing things that not only help you pass the time, but are useful and helpful. Consider how these ideas below can help make your commute to work a lot better;

  1. Listen for Inspiration

Listening to something that makes you happy can do wonders for your mood when you arrive at the office. Depending on your work or field, you may even find listening a source of inspiration for your creative work. Chances are that an enjoyable commute will have you putting your best foot forward which will also make for a productive day. If you are not sure where to get started, start with motivational podcasts, youtube videos etc.

  1. Repeat affirmations

Is there something you want to do, and you need encouragement, motivation and a positive attitude? Instead of letting your mind just jump from one thought to another, repeat a positive affirmation over and again. This will make you feel good, motivated and positive.

  1. Draft Emails

If you are not behind the wheels, you can also take that time to draft long messages on your phone that you intend to send to people later in the day.

  1. Track Accomplishments

Your commute is a fantastic time to take pen to paper and start making notes of all your many achievements, from the seemingly insignificant ones to the bigger ones. If you are driving, get in the habit of making a mental note and as soon as you get where you are going, write down whatever you comes to mind.

  1. Refine Your To-Do List

You could use this time to evaluate your today or the next day’s to-do list. What must you prioritize? Not having to devote an ounce of energy to this when you start your day can save you time and stress. You know what awaits, and you can focus predictably when it’s time to start working.
