5 barriers successful people overcome

Published

on

Successful people see challenges as obstacles they have to overcome instead of barriers and this are five points which may appear like a barrier but not for successful minds.

  1. Age

Age really is just a number. Successful people do not let their age define who they are and what they are capable of. I particularly gained a lot of wisdom from Colonel Sanders, who started at 65, failed 1009 times and eventually birthed fast food chicken restaurant chain, Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Without failure, people feel compelled to tell you what you should and should not do because of your age. Everybody suddenly has an opinion about what they think is right for you to do with your life. Pay no mind to them. Successful people certainly do not.  They follow their heart and allow their passion to be their guide.

  1. What Other People Think

When your sense of pleasure and satisfaction are derived from comparing yourself to others, you are no longer the master of your own destiny. Although you cannot turn off the comments or opinion people have/say about you, you have the power to choose whether or not to react to it.  That way, no matter what other people are thinking or doing, your self-worth comes from within. Successful people know that minding what other people may think is a waste of time. They do not live their lives to please others. When successful people feel good about something they have done, they do not let anyone’s opinions take that away from them.

No matter what other people think of you at any particular moment, one thing is certain: You’re never as good or as bad as they say you are.

  1. Regressive people

Successful people believe in a simple notion: You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. Like minds would always attract each other, just as great people help you to reach your full potential, regressive people aim at dragging you down with them. They create stress and strife that should be avoided at all costs.

If you are unhappy with where you are in your life, take a look around. More often than not, the people you have surrounded yourself with may be the causes of your problems.

  1. Fear

False Evidence Appearing Real. Fear is nothing more than a lingering emotion fueled by your imagination. Fear is a choice.

Successful people know this better than anyone, so they flip fear on its head. They have learnt to overcome their fears because there is something always at the other side of fear. What’s the worst thing that can happen to you? The worst thing that can happen to you is allowing yourself to die inside while you are still alive. Do not be scared to live your dreams.

  1. Negativity

There is a lot of dirty work on this journey called life, so you have to roll up your sleeves and go for what you want. You have the same 24 hours as everyone else so make that time count. Instead of complaining about how things could have been or should have been, successful persons reflect on everything they have to be grateful for. Look for the best solution available, tackle the problem head on and continue with life.

Successful people set limits and distance themselves from people if they are the ones bringing in negative vibes. You would distance yourself from someone smoking so as not to inhale it, this should be the case with all negative people.
