10 things you must know about the ‘Type A’ persons

Published

on

There are two sides of the personality spectrum: the Type A side and the Type B side. Those who would be grouped mostly towards the Type A side of the spectrum are those that are more driven, more focused, more goal-oriented, more diligent, more likely to get stressed and emotional, more likely to have heart attacks and more likely to have mental breakdowns. Type As, in particular, are often misunderstood, as we just do not understand the motivation behind their behavior. See 10 traits peculiar to the ‘type A’ personality;

  1. They believe that winning is the only option. They are really hard on ourselves. Their desire to do their best often morphs into a desire to be the best. This ensures that even the most mundane activities become a competition.

  1. They live and die by their goals. For them, there is an end aim for everything. They would not allow anyone who tries to slow them down or get in their way. They are absolutely nothing if they do not reach their goals.

  1. They squeeze something into every possible moment. They try to squeeze a task into every possible minute, and sometimes can overdo it. In their determination to avoid downtime, they sometimes inadvertently create downtime for other people.

  1. They want you to get to the point. Skip the long preamble; they ask you whenever they have any questions. There is no need to waste time on the setup when you have something important to share with them. The theme here is efficiency; they are interested in hearing the main points so they can begin taking action.

  1. They hate to wait. They like to be efficient with our time and do not like things getting in their way. Every minute spent waiting is a minute they could have spent doing something productive. It’s a minute nobody will ever get back.

  1. They are conscientious. Things are either right or wrong. And they always, always have to be right. No matter what they are doing, they care too much to settle for mediocrity.

  1. They multitask. They are not rude and bored. They just have a sense that the value of their day is measured by how much they get done, and they accomplish more when they do, two or more things at once.

  1. They often become passionate. If they are going to do something, then they are going to do something they believe to be meaningful. If it’s meaningful to them, then it deserves their fullest attention; passion is inevitable.

  1. They have an unrealistic sense of urgency. From their perspective, “now” is the only time that exists. They hate the idea of wasting time so they do things the moment they come to mind. There is no sense in putting something off till another time. While that’s often a good thing, they tend to give trivial issues a greater sense of urgency than they deserve.

  1. They love solving problems and believe there is always a solution. They believe the world to work in a logical manner and therefore, believe that there must always be a solution for every problem.
