1. Acting President Yemi Osinbajo​ ​on Sunday prayed for President Buhari’s quick recovery and return to Nigeria​ in good health.

Osinbajo, who made this comment when a delegation led by the FCT Minister Muhammed Bello paid him Sallah homage at ​his official residence, ​Aguda House​, ‎stated that the Buhari-led administration will do all it can to sustain Nigeria’s unity and stability to ensure speedy progress of the country.

1. President Muhammadu Buhari, his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, state governors and other prominent Nigerians, have called for the unity of Nigeria and prayers for the quick recovery of the ailing president.

They noted that the unity and peaceful co-existence of all Nigerians and the integration of all regions in the country remains a priority that must be pursued by all citizens irrespective of socio-cultural differences.

The Director, Kano local office of DSS, Alhassan Muhammad, said the 48-hour operation neutralised what would have been a bloody Eid Fitr in Kano.

Muhammad disclosed that the combat operations carried out jointly with the Police, led to the arrest of a Boko Haram Unit Commander, who was also in charge of Kano, Kaduna and Sokoto states.

1. Elder statesman and nationalist, Dr. Paul Unongo, has blamed the problems in Nigeria’s political terrain on late sage, Obafemi Awolowo.

According to Unongo, Nigeria’s problem started when Awo started what he tagged as tribal politics during his heydays in politics.

Fani-Kayode, who accused Buhari’s handlers of taking Nigerians for a ride, averred that the voice message was the same handlers of late President Yar’Adua used when he was very ill in Saudi Arabia.

1. The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has condemned the appeal filed by the executive against the ruling of the Code of Conduct Tribunal that discharged and acquitted Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The party in a statement signed by the publicity secretary, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari said the ruling of the CCT will be sustained by higher courts because the ruling represents the true position of law.

1. The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar, has called on the Federal Government of Nigerian to probe the sources of weapons used by herdsmen accused of attacking Nigerian communities.

According to the monarch, the real herdsmen do not carry guns; they only move with their cows and sticks, and as such, any one found with weapons should be arrested and forced to face the law.
